Ideology is usually created for practical/realpolitik reasons, no argument there. The point of the article is to show that once you create an ideology for the masses, you cannot just shove that genie back in the bottle.

The scaling debate is a matter of opinion. Blocksize increases centralization , yes, but at point? isn’t 8megabyte ok? How about 1.001 megabytes?
